Category Genomics>Gene Expression Analysis/Profiling/Tools Abstract Oncomine Research is an advanced online cancer gene expression analysis system dedicated to the academic and non-profit research community. Oncomine combines a rapidly growing compendium of 20,000+ cancer transcriptome profiles with a sophisticated analysis engine and a powerful web application for data-mining and visualization. Oncomine facilitates rapid and reliable biomarker and therapeutic target discovery, validation and prioritization. Oncomine was developed by physicians, scientists, and software engineers at the University of Michigan and is now fully supported for the academic and non-profit research community by Compendia Bioscience. Oncomine Research is based on the original Oncomine product provided by the University of Michigan to the academic community. Product is provided under a free license for non-commercial users pursuing non-commercial purposes. Note 1: Oncomine Research Edition main features include many of the same features as Oncomine Professional Edition such as, Gene Search, Profile Search, Meta Analysis, Gene Enrichment and Outlier Analysis. See Oncomine Professional (G6G Product Number 20014) for additional information. Manufacturer also offers a Oncomine Research Premium Edition - includes all of the added functionality and features that have been added to Oncomine Professional and Oncomine Concepts Edition such as custom gene filters and integration with Ingenuity Pathways Analysis software. See Note 2 below and Oncomine Concepts Map (G6G Product Number 20015) for additional information. Note 2: Integration of Oncomine with Ingenuity Pathways Analysis (see G6G Product Number 20017) - A key strength of the Oncomine system is the ease and speed at which abstract relationships between disparate concepts such as drug treatments and patient response can be identified. The scale, diversity, and independent nature of the data in the Oncomine system reinforces confidence in results. When coupled with the Ingenuity Pathways Analysis software, researchers are enabled with advanced tools to develop and test hypotheses, and then explore the causal basis for disease and clinical outcome at the systems level.
