Abstract FasterAnalytics™ is a unique analytics package that enables scientists and researchers to use sophisticated ‘predictive analytics’ from their desktops. FasterAnalytics software uses 'machine learning' to find unusual or hidden relationships in your data.

FasterAnalytics is fast and creates high quality, predictive models from data that enable day-to-day review of experimental data, real-time hypothesis testing, and rapid research prioritization decisions.

FasterAnalytics uses a modeling approach called 'Bayesian Networks' to provide a mapping of the complex relationships in data, which can then be used to make high quality predictions.

Users can --

1) Get an instant global view of their data;

2) Understand the driving factors in the data;

3) Test hypotheses in real time in the model Explorer;

4) Produce reports that can be exported to other applications; and

5) Make determinations that can help prioritize the use of scarce research resources.

FasterAnalytics enables both experts and non-experts in statistics to discover and leverage knowledge from data at key ‘bottle-neck’ points in the research and discovery process.

Examples include --

1) Automated mapping of data where the targets are unknown to reveal a complex map of interaction pathways.

2) Identification of both positively and negatively correlated relationships to a target variable.

3) Ability to make predictions about the behavior of multiple factors and test hypotheses in real time.

4) Dimensionality reduction of a large data set down to the most likely solution set.

5) Prioritization of the most promising areas to test and fail-fast.

DecisionQ’s predictive modeling software is designed for real-time environments. Bayesian models are highly effective at identifying experimental defects early on in the process and reducing the cost and time taken to reach a successful experiment.

FasterAnalytics modules include --

1) Discretizer - Automatically configures the data for modeling.

2) Modeler - Quickly creates a visual model of the data.

3) Explorer - Allows real-time generation and testing of hypotheses.

4) Reporter - Extracts insights and key points for inclusion in reports and presentations.

The FasterAnalytics software Tool Bar contains eight functions --

1) DATA - allows you to select, import, and configure your data for modeling.

2) MODEL - allows you to build a ‘Bayesian Network’ in a fast, automated fashion.

3) EXPLORE - allows you to manipulate your model and test hypotheses in real time.

4) COMPARE - allows you to compare multiple models.

5) PREDICT - allows you to validate models and run case-specific predictions.

6) CONFIG - allows you to access FasterAnalytics’ power-user configuration settings.

7) LICENSE - maintains your user license.

8) HELP- links you directly to DecisionQ's web-based help files.

FasterAnalytics models can be deployed in three (3) different modes --

1) Self Service - DecisionQ's customer licenses FasterAnalytics for use by in-house analysts for an annual recurring license fee based on value derived. DecisionQ provides start-up training and support and offers assistance along the way.

2) Fully Supported - DecisionQ assists with data acquisition and preparation, performs model development, manages the software component, and supports the maintenance of the models on an ongoing basis.

DecisionQ explains models and results in periodic reports. DecisionQ and the customer agree on a variable annual fee based on value derived and/or utilization.

3) Private Label - The customer licenses DecisionQ software and models for integration into their product or service for a utilization-based annual fee. DecisionQ experts support model development and software integration.

System Requirements

Software: FasterAnalytics is written in Java and will run on Microsoft Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT4, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

Hardware: FasterAnalytics is limited to tables of 100MB model units for systems with a minimum of 128MB of RAM, but can be increased to larger models with the assistance of DecisionQ's Professional Services team. A minimum processor speed of 333 Mhz and an Intel processor are recommended.

Databases: Accesses data in any table in local JDBC and ODBC compliant databases via ETL from vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Informix, Sybase, Siebel, PeopleSoft, SAP, and BEA. Also supports Comma Separated Value (CSV), Tab Separated Value (TSV), Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access flat files.
