Alitora’s Solutions are designed to interface with almost any existing application. Alitora’s user interface technology enables a user to both search and collaborate with this contextualized data in a single application.

Text Mining -- Alitora Foundry is a suite of services used for Text Mining.

The Alitora Foundry combines many of the best ‘text processing’ software technologies into one process.

In particular, the Semantic Parser component employs a full grammar semantic natural language parsing (NLP) technology that has been tested, peer reviewed and found to have up to 86% accuracy, which is as good as human curation for BioMedical text.

It incorporates deep domain knowledge, enabling it to handle complex concepts and phraseology.

It is a broad-based scientific NLP system that comprises statistical and pattern-matching methods coupled with the comprehensive power of its deep full grammar, making it particularly suitable for the life-sciences domain.

This proprietary approach can take advantage of what scientists already know about entities, relationships, and pathways, while also allowing it to “learn” and iteratively improve in accuracy and responsiveness over time.

The software has been adapted to mine names, dates, places, gene/protein interactions, and chemical names mapped to chemical structures.

Semantic Database -- kHarmony™ is a semantic search platform, using proprietary graph-theoretic and information retrieval techniques to provide structure to unstructured data, scale to large amounts of data, and perform data clustering.

This database is best described as a hyper-graph database that is unique because it does Not store any information in the form of a table, as with traditional relational databases.

This is essential, because data and its contextual information are originally graph-like in structure.

Data that is generated by text mining, database schema and other structures, by nature, are in graph form.

However, because present database technology is tabular, data must lose its graph form to be stored and either relinquishes a large amount of contextual information or requires a significant computational effort to reassemble upon a query.

Alitora’s database technology stores graph data, as a graph, and can output that information as a graph, which preserves the contextual information and reduces computational redundancies.

Further and most notably, it allows continual update and alteration of the structure, which is extremely difficult for tabular storage.

Alitora's innovative database technology enables search based upon exact meaning, eliminating the ambiguity of keywords by using the intrinsic meaning of a concept.

As a result, kHarmony™ data structure enables users to efficiently query and navigate complex data and provides a repository to store connections between previously separate data sets.

Alitora Systems Application Programming Interface (ASAPI) -- The Alitora Systems API provides access to search and collaboration functionality as a web service.

Additionally, the Alitora Foundry suite of text-mining tools is available via ASAPI, allowing text to be analyzed to extract Topics, Entities, and Facts.

ASAPI is available as either a WSDL web service or a REST web service. ASAPI outputs results in XML, JSON, or RDF data formats.

The RDF data results conform to a RDFs data model, which may be used to integrate the ASAPI output with other RDF applications, including inference engines.
