Together XPDL Workflow Editor

Category Cross-Omics>Workflow Knowledge Bases/Systems/Tools

Abstract Together XPDL Workflow Editor is a professional graphical WfMC XPDL Workflow Editor.

It is one of the first graphical Java Workflow Editors that is fully implementing WfMC (Workflow Management Coalition) XPDL- Specifications (XML Process Definition Language).

Every WfMC compliant XPDL-File can be viewed, edited and saved either from a local/remote mapped file system / drive or via Workflow (Wf)-XML, directly from WfMC compliant workflow engines, such as, Together XPDL Workflow Server / Enhydra Shark, Fujitsu or TIBCO Staffware.

Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) connections to MS Active Directory or OpenLDAP are supported for importing process participant data.

References between XPDL package/files are supported and resolved.

Extensive logical validation beyond simple Extensible Markup Language (XML) syntax checks is done automatically.

Guided dialogs for all XPDL elements / attributes, customizable activity icons, freely definable XPDL copy/paste design pattern libraries and optional graph auto-layout support for productive XPDL editing.

Special configurations for support of Together XPDL Workflow Server / Enhydra Shark and WfMOpen are included.

Together XPDL Workflow Editor Version 2.4 is available in German, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Serbian translations.

Enhydra JaWE (Java XPDL Workflow Editor) is one of the first open source graphical Java workflow process editors in full accord with WfMC specifications supporting XPDL as its native file format.

It can be used to edit / view every XPDL file which conforms to WfMC XPDL specifications. Enhydra JaWE does Not use any proprietary XPDL extensions and is available in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Serbian.

Advanced features like the consistency validation and guided property editor dialogs for all XPDL objects make it really easy to create valid XPDL files.

The representation of workflow participants as “swim lanes” in the editor graphics gives a comprehensive overview of process responsibilities.

In combination with ‘Enhydra Shark’, the Java XPDL Open Source Workflow Engine you get a complete workflow solution for embedded or standalone usage.

The Together XPDL Workflow Editor is based on the Open Source Project “Enhydra JaWE” and has already become the worldwide de- facto standard to edit XPDL files.
